Huddle: Math Toolkit | Math Confidence in Action

Organization: 21st CCLC NTAC
Event Type: Virtual Event
Date: November 5, 2026
Time: 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm (ET)

Part 1 in this series examined how thoughts, feelings, and beliefs affect math learning. Now, in Part 2, the focus shifts to math-positive actionable strategies and low-prep activities you can implement in your out-of-school time (OST) program. This session guides you through self-assessment and reflection tools to help you recognize how adults’ messaging and program environments influence student growth. You’ll practice using positive, confidence-building language during homework help and enrichment; explore practical anxiety management skills (such as self-talk and S.T.O.P.); and examine simple ways to integrate engaging math activities into your existing routines. You’ll walk away with actionable steps to ensure positive math identities and engagement across all grade levels. The Huddle begins at 1 p.m. ET and will conclude with a 30-minute office hours session.
